I was a member of gather for a while last year. I joined because I wanted to get the word out about animal issues. However, my life was taken over by my father's illness, cancer. My father is my role model and during his 14 year struggle with many types of cancer I can not recall him complaining EVEN once about his illness. I decided, of course, to remove myself from college last semester and went home to take care of my dad. He died September 21, 2007. It was a difficult, yet meaningful time. He passed peacefully with his bible in his hands while we all prayed around him. I do admit my life was upside down for a while. But when I came back to morgantown I got a wonderful job as a veterinary assistant and I am now back in college studying Veterinary Sciences. I am very excited about getting this site going.
